Asia has always been considered important continent for PowerPD. Thus it was no surprise that David Eom and Peter Paek has traveled to India to satisfy the growing thirst for partial discharge monitoring system by the Indian Power Companies.

With it’s proven unique method of on-line multifunctional integrated system that detects, analyses, and monitors real partial discharge, PowerPD was very well received by the local Indian Companies. After the initial presentation with all the important principles of the company, Power Grid Corporation of India invited PowerPD to perform a live demo on one of their substations. Once on site, David Eom quickly got to work on their high voltage D.C. (HV DC) transformers, and found partial discharge on their transformers. What made this demo unique was the fact that this was the first time PowerPD has found PD on a “twin transformer on HV DC transformer”, which can only be found in India and China. Similar tests were also done on a remote substation, managed by Indian Oil Corporation on their MCSG Cabinets.

India trip has proven to be a success not only in introducing PowerPD products to India, but also as the company has agreed with two local distributors to distribute PowerPD products in India. More news to follow shortly about India.
