News flash.....JLG Associates, just this past week was called into a nuclear plant that was returning to full power after an outage. The plant experienced an alarm from their gas in oil monitor with a sharp rise in acetylene and hydrogen. When JLG arrived on site the unit was holding at 70%. The TP500A was set up to collect arcing data from the generator step-up transformer. Within hours the first of 5 major arcs occurred. All captured using the TP500. The plant was able to control the assertion in power and monitor all the way to 100% power. The activity is coming from loose material or part in the transformer. The plant purchased a TP500 and JLG installed it for 24/7 monitoring. As of this morning it is still at 100% power. This unit produces $1 million per day. Without the TP500 and JLG Associates, the likelihood of shutting down was very high. The ROI is approaching $10 million for this event.
